2025: PSG overtake Barcelona as Europe’s most prolific side

Paris Saint-Germain have surged to the top of the goalscoring charts in 2025, overtaking Barcelona as the most prolific side across Europe’s top five leagues so far this calendar year.
PSG emphatic 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Club World Cup saw them reach 105 goals, averaging just under three per game.
Having ended their Champions League campaign by putting five past Inter, Luis Enrique’s side picked up exactly where they left off, opening their Club World Cup with another ruthless display.
Far from being slowed down by the brief break, PSG appear to have fine-tuned their attacking juggernaut – now statistically the most potent in Europe.
Across all competitions in 2025, PSG have now scored 105 goals – three more than Barcelona’s 102. Both sides boast an identical scoring average of 2.9 goals per match, though the Catalans have played one fewer game.
Real Madrid sit a distant third on 79, with Bayern Munich slightly further back on 76, despite their 10-0 thrashing of Auckland City.
And there’s little indication that the Parisians are about to ease off. They’ve scored at least three goals in each of their last five matches – including a 4-1 win over Montpellier, a 3-1 against Auxerre, and a 3-0 over Stade de Reims.
Their total across the 2024/25 season now stands at 156 goals (an average of 2.6 per game), second only to Barcelona’s 172. Remarkably, only Liverpool have managed to keep a clean sheet against them in 2025 – in the first leg of the Champions League last 16.
Since then, PSG have scored in every single game: just once in nine, twice in six, three times in another six, and four or more in no fewer than 14 matches. That includes nine games with four goals, two with five, one with six, and two in which they hit seven.
Leading the charge
Individually, Ousmane Dembele is spearheading the attack with a brilliant calendar year of his own. The Frenchman leads PSG’s scoring charts with 25 goals in 2025, followed by Goncalo Ramos (14), Desire Doue (13), and Bradley Barcola (11).
In total, 15 different players have contributed to PSG’s 105 goals this year: seven forwards, five midfielders, and three defenders – a testament to both their attacking depth and versatility.
