Adeyanju shades Burna Boy over $30K gift to Cubana Chief Priest’s alleged brother

Prominent lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has taken a swipe at Nigerian singer Burna Boy following his controversial gift of $30,000 to a man claiming to be the brother of celebrity barman, Cubana Chief Priest.
The drama unfolded during an online clash between Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest. In what appeared to be a subtle jab, the singer promised to financially uplift the man after he claimed he had been abandoned by his family. True to his word, Burna Boy gifted him the sum, drawing widespread reactions across social media.
Cubana Chief Priest, however, dismissed the man’s claims, stating that he was not a blood relative and reiterating that he owed no one an obligation to share his wealth.
Reacting to the incident, Deji Adeyanju criticized Burna Boy’s gesture, suggesting it was driven by clout rather than genuine generosity. He argued that Burna Boy likely has underprivileged relatives in his own extended family who have not benefited from his success.
In a pointed remark shared on his social media, Adeyanju wrote:
“The person that gave $30k for clout has more poor people in his extended family than those in Chief Priest’s family. And the guy is not even Chief Priest’s brother. But assuming he’s even his brother, do you know why he has refused to help him? Giving money to some folks is waste.”
The statement has fueled further discussions online, with opinions divided over whether Burna Boy’s philanthropic display was genuine or simply a tactic to one-up Cubana Chief Priest during their feud.
Read some netizens’ reactions below;
@omoopee: “Helping others should never be reduced to clout-chasing. A $30k gift to change someone’s life is a sign of generosity and a heart for impact. Instead of tearing others down, focus on the bigger picture, uplifting people creates opportunities for growth, even if not all succeed.”
@mummy_z523: “We preach be your brother’s keeper, rise by lifting others; charity ;kindness but when is family it becomes entitlement?I think is just SM cos in Africa we take care of our own. One blessed member is enough for an entire family. Abi ‘family first ‘is now Wife and kids only?”
@onyeoma_iyke: “That story tire me oh.
In this difficult Nigeria, someone gave out 30k usd for clout chasing, whereas there are countless of orphanage homes in Naija needs just 5% of that money to survive 2025.
Not judging anyways, it’s his money. But mehn, 30k usd for clout? ♂️♂️♂️”
The unfolding saga continues to capture the attention of fans and commentators alike.

Tuface deletes love post on Natasha amid backlash

Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as Tuface, has deleted a controversial love post about Edo State Deputy Majority Leader, Natasha Osawaru, following intense criticism from social media users.
The singer sparked outrage after posting a video on Instagram where he publicly expressed his affection for Natasha and addressed speculations about their relationship. This comes amid his widely discussed marital troubles with his wife, Annie Idibia.
In the now-deleted video, Tuface defended Natasha, who is the granddaughter of billionaire Gabriel Igbinedion, stating that she had no involvement in his marital issues.
“Allegedly, I have been seeing so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff. Yes, I posted what I posted.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker.
“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.
“Yes, I love her. She is amazing, she is cool. I want to marry her,” he declared.
His statement triggered mixed reactions online, with many criticizing the 49-year-old father of six for making such a declaration barely two weeks after announcing his separation from Annie.
Amid the backlash, Tuface eventually bowed to pressure and deleted the video, but the controversy surrounding his remarks continues to dominate discussions on social media.
