APC welcomes Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno into party, calls move ‘thoughtful decision’

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially welcomed Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, into its ranks, hailing the move as a “thoughtful decision” that will bring progress to both the state and the nation.
In a press statement issued on Friday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party’s leadership expressed delight over the governor’s defection from the opposition.
“The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, is delighted at the news of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Umo Eno’s decision to join our great party,” Morka said.
Describing the defection as a move that aligns with the party’s national vision, the APC stated: “We are confident that his thoughtful decision will inure to the greater progress of Akwa Ibom State and its people.”
The party further pledged its support for Governor Eno as he begins his journey within the APC. “Our great party assures the governor of its fullest cooperation and accommodation in the APC family,” the statement noted.
Morka emphasized the party’s ongoing commitment to national development, tying Eno’s entry to the broader goals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. “We continue to grow the party and work together towards the full realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the good and benefit of all Nigerians,” he added.
