Arsenal announce Jorginho’s departure

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is expected to leave the club at the end of the season and join Brazilian side Flamengo on a free transfer, having rejected offers from European clubs to embark on a new chapter in South America.
Jorginho is set to leave Arsenal when his contract expires this summer, with Flamengo leading the race to sign the experienced midfielder on a free transfer.
The Brazilian club have already made a formal proposal to Jorginho, who has reportedly prioritised a move to the Brazilian club despite interest from other European clubs such as Besiktas, Fiorentina and Palmeiras.
Arsenal have no plans to renew Jorginho’s contract and are set to replace him with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi. Flamengo’s offer includes a three-year contract until December 2027.
Despite recent speculation of a move to the Saudi league, there are no ongoing negotiations between Jorginho and Saudi club Neom FC.
