Atalanta announce €60m price tag on Lookman

Italian Serie A leaders Atalanta have announced a €60m price tag on Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman amid growing interest from several European clubs.
The reigning African Footballer of The Year has been a subject of transfer speculation following his impressive performances for La Dea since joining from RB Leipzig for €9.35m in 2022.
According to journalist, Mirko Di Natale, Juventus have already made their first approach for the 27-year-old, who has amassed 43 goals and 23 assists in 96 appearances for the Bergamo outfit.
The forward’s stock rose significantly after his historic hat-trick in last season’s Europa League final victory over Bayer Leverkusen, becoming the first player to achieve this feat in the competition’s final.
Despite Atalanta president Antonio Percassi’s earlier stance that the club would do “all they can” to keep their prized asset, he admitted the player “must not stay against his will.”
“After all, we have already replaced Zapata, Muriel and Gomez,” Percassi told Corriere della Sera last month.
The Nigeria international, who has continued his fine form this season with 14 goals and six assists across all competitions, is also attracting interest from Premier League clubs, with a potential return to England on the cards.
Lookman’s current contract with Atalanta runs until June 2026, but with just over a year remaining after this season, the Italian club may be forced to consider offers to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
The former Everton man has particularly impressed in European competitions this term, recently scoring in Atalanta’s 3-2 UEFA Champions League defeat to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, while also claiming three Man of The Match awards in the expanded UCL group stage.
