Bayer Leverkusen eye Xavi Hernandez

The Spanish manager Xavi Hernandez is another name being considered by Bayer Leverkusen should Xabi Alonso leave the club.
The Catalan is currently out of work after parting ways with Barcelona at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Bayer Leverkusen are continuing to monitor the market for a new coach in case Alonso departs.
The German club are convinced that the former Real Sociedad manager will join Real Madrid next summer, and they are taking precautions to prepare for his potential exit.
One of the options being considered is Xavi Hernandez. The former Barcelona manager, who ended his time at the Catalan club in the 2023/24 season, is now a target for the Bundesliga side, according to Kicker.
Despite being without a job for almost a year, Xavi’s playing philosophy, which mirrors that of Alonso, has caught the attention of Bayer Leverkusen’s decision-makers.
Alonso himself is still awaiting a decision from Carlo Ancelotti after turning down the Brazilian national team, with Saudi Arabia looking like the most probable destination for him.
Alongside the ex-Barcelona boss, other names in the frame include Imanol Alguacil and Erik ten Hag.
