Body of late Nigerian boxer Olanrewaju Segun arrives Nigeria

There was an emotional scene at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday as the body of late Nigerian boxer, Olanrewaju Segun Success, was returned to the country following his tragic death in Ghana.
Success collapsed and died in the ring during a heated match against a Ghanaian opponent at the Bukom Boxing Arena. The shocking incident sent waves of sorrow across Nigeria’s boxing community and the sports world at large.
In a viral video circulating on social media, his body was seen carefully packaged and carried in a vehicle shortly after landing in Lagos. Mourners and sympathisers, visibly heartbroken, surrounded the area, some shedding tears as the young boxer’s lifeless form made its way home.
Many have taken to social media to express grief and pay tribute to the athlete, whose life and promising career were cut short in the most tragic of circumstances.
No official statement has yet been issued by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control, but tributes continue to pour in, with calls for improved medical protocols and safety measures in African boxing matches.
