Breaking: Delta state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori dumps PDP, announces new party

In a dramatic political shakeup, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The unexpected move was sealed on Wednesday evening following a high-stakes, closed-door meeting at the Government House in Asaba, the state capital. Governor Oborevwori, who was elected on the PDP platform in 2023, was warmly welcomed by top APC chieftains in what many now describe as a major political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
