Breaking: Govt withdraws query issued to nursing student over viral video

The Delta State College of Nursing Sciences has officially withdrawn the query issued to Student Nurse Edobor Osatohemwen, following a directive from the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme.
Discovererngr.com reports that the student had earlier been queried for allegedly making an unauthorized TikTok post during First Lady Remi Tinubu’s visit to Delta State, an incident that sparked widespread reactions online. The school had accused Osatohemwen of malicious recording and posting an unofficial response during the First Lady’s address.

However, in a letter dated March 28, 2025, the school’s provost, Mrs. Evbodaghe R., confirmed the withdrawal of the query, stating that the Commissioner’s decision was made out of magnanimity. The institution further regretted any inconveniences the matter may have caused.
Osatohemwen has now been instructed to return the original query letter to the office of the provost through the student affairs officer.
The withdrawal of the disciplinary action has fueled fresh reactions online, with many questioning the initial justification for the query, while others commended the government’s intervention.
