Breaking: Kidnapped lawmaker found dead

The decomposing body of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, has been discovered at the 2nd Niger Bridge by a combined security team.
Azuka, who represented Onitsha North Constituency 1 under the Labour Party (LP), was abducted on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, while returning home via Ugwunaobankpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha. His abduction, carried out at gunpoint, reportedly lasted less than five minutes.
The slain lawmaker had regained his mandate after a court ruling ousted Hon. Douglas Egbuna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who was initially declared the winner of the 2023 election.
Confirming the grim discovery, a security source revealed that those responsible for Azuka’s kidnapping and murder had been apprehended. “They were arrested very late last (Wednesday) night, and they took security operatives to the location where they dumped his body,” the source told SaharaReporters.
