Carvajal sends fresh message amid injury crisis

The Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has provided a fresh wave of optimism as he was back in his football boots for the first time in 163 days, hinting that he is nearing his return.
Dani Carvajal was back in his football boots for the first time in 163 days after spending five months on the sidelines, deprived of the sport he loves.
“How I missed you,” the Spaniard wrote via his Instagram story earlier on Monday after completing a session in Real Madrid’s training camp.
Carvajal suffered three ruptures, tearing his cruciate ligament, external collateral ligament and popliteal tendon tears in his right knee in October.
Having completed surgery the same month, the 33-year-old has been going through his rehabilitation process, which he admitted has made him “feel like an animal”.
Although diagnosis had informed that his season was over, Carvajal has insisted that he will try to make his comeback before the end of the term.
