High Chief Temitope Fawehinmi pays homage to Alaafin of Oyo

Chief Temitope Fawehinmi, a member of the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion, has paid a courtesy visit to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, Elewu Etu I, at his private residence in Oyo town, Oyo State.
During the visit, Fawehinmi, who is also the Gbajeniyi of Egbaland, reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusiveness of women in governance. She emphasized the need to empower women, particularly in Oyo, and expressed her commitment to promoting economic empowerment.
Fawehinmi stated, “We need to start looking at the saved people in our communities. We will start here in Oyo, especially with the women, because we need to empower the women. We need to support them.”
She described the meeting as “a powerful exchange rooted in mutual respect, cultural pride, and a shared vision for the upliftment of our people, especially women.” Fawehinmi expressed gratitude for the Alaafin’s wisdom, blessings, and commitment to recognizing the vital role of women in preserving heritage and driving progress.
The visit was attended by Gbajeniyi women from Egbaland and Oyo Town, who showed their support and excitement. Fawehinmi praised their energy, pride, and unity, saying it was a reminder of the strength that lies in sisterhood and cultural solidarity.
In response, the Alaafin thanked Fawehinmi and her entourage, promising to maintain the cordial relationship between Oyo and Egbaland. He assured them of his support in promoting the culture and tradition of the Yoruba race.
