Dangote announces date for nationwide distribution of petrol, diesel

In a major development poised to reshape Nigeria’s fuel supply chain, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will commence the distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel nationwide beginning August 15, 2025.
According to a statement released via the company’s official social media handle, the initiative will serve a wide range of stakeholders, including petroleum marketers, filling station operators, manufacturers, telecom companies, aviation operators, and other large-scale fuel consumers across the country. As part of the plan, the company is offering free logistics support to ensure seamless delivery of petroleum products.
To drive this ambitious programme, the refinery has acquired 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers. Additionally, over 100 CNG tankers have been deployed alongside the establishment of daughter booster CNG stations nationwide. This robust logistics infrastructure is expected to significantly boost efficiency, reduce distribution bottlenecks, and lower operational costs.
“This strategic programme is part of our broader commitment to eliminating logistics costs, enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability and supporting Nigeria’s economic development,” the company said in the statement.
Dangote Refinery also introduced a credit facility that allows buyers of at least 500,000 litres of PMS or diesel to obtain an extra 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, secured with a bank guarantee.
The project is anticipated to not only revamp inactive petrol stations but also stimulate job creation, drive SME growth, reduce fuel costs for industrial sectors, and improve access to fuel in underserved rural areas.
The company praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its continued support through initiatives such as the Naira-for-Crude policy, which has helped stabilise fuel supply amid global price fluctuations.
“This initiative is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement read, hailing the president’s “bold and reformative economic policies.”
Registration for interested parties, including Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, will run from June 16 to August 15, 2025. Marketers, dealers, and other stakeholders have been encouraged to take advantage of this window to join the nationwide scheme.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to being a “truly Nigerian company of global standards,” dedicated to delivering accessible, affordable, and reliable energy solutions to all corners of the country.
