Drama as house agent gets punished for using client’s rent to gamble on sports bet

A dramatic scene has surfaced online showing a house agent being publicly punished after allegedly diverting a client’s rent payment to gamble on a sports betting platform.
The viral video, which has gone viral on social media, reportedly features an agent said to be from Ekiti State. According to those in the background of the footage, the man used the client’s rent money allegedly ₦300,000 to place a bet, hoping to make a profit, but ended up losing the entire sum.
In the footage, the agent is seen in a humiliating position with his legs raised against a wall while being interrogated by angry individuals. When asked where his parents were, he claimed he had none. He was then questioned about other family members and mentioned having a sister who sells provisions, but said she could not assist with the debt. The punishment continued as he failed to offer a solution.
Several voices in the background can be heard calling him “greedy,” criticizing not only the loss of funds but also the general reputation of house agents who are often accused of charging exorbitant agency fees.
The video has since triggered mixed reactions online, with many condemning the agent’s actions while others called for legal measures rather than public humiliation.
As of press time, it remains unclear if the matter has been reported to the police or if the affected client has received any form of compensation.
