Entertainment duo jailed for Naira mutilation

Two prominent social media influencers, T-Dollar and TobiNation, have been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment by the Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for mutilating Nigeria’s currency. The pair pleaded guilty on Thursday, May 8, 2025, and appeared before Justice Owoeye at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi.
In addition to the custodial term, they were given the option to pay a ₦200,000 fine each in lieu of serving the full sentence.
Their convictions add to a growing list of high-profile Naira mutilation cases handled by the EFCC, which in recent months has also investigated entertainer Portable, actress Iyabo Ojo, and comedian AY Makun for similar offenses.
