Gombe business leaders hail new industrial park

By Najib Sani, Gombe
The newly established Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park in Gombe State has generated excitement among local business leaders, who believe the facility will provide an enabling environment for industries to thrive.
During an inspection tour of the newly established park, chairman of the Gombe State Groundnuts Millers Association, Sani Ya’u, praised Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his visionary leadership in establishing the park.
Ya’u expressed confidence that the industrial park would attract more industries to the state, enabling Gombe to fare well in the new tax reform policy in the country.
“With the establishment of the industrial park and the setting up of companies in the state, Gombe will fare very well in the new tax reform, which recommends higher taxes for states that have more industries,” he opined.
The groundnut millers’ association chairman also announced plans by their members to relocate to the park, citing better operational space compared to their current location in Nassarawo community in Gombe town.
“The park will give us better space to operate, and we intend to relocate our members here,” Ya’u stated.
Also speaking with journalists during the tour, the state chairman of the Rice Millers Association, Lawal Yusuf, lauded the park’s facilities, including water, adequate electricity, and access roads saying they are crucial for industrial growth.
“These are the things industries need to thrive, and we are excited about the prospects of operating in this park,” Yusuf said.
He added that the industrial park is expected to boost economic activity in Gombe State, attract investments and create jobs.
