Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared next Monday public holiday to mark his inauguration.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor explained that the holiday would allow residents of the state to actively participate in the inauguration ceremonies for both himself and his deputy, Olayide Adelami.
The inauguration of the governor commenced on Friday with a Jumat Service at the Akure Central Mosque, while a Church Thanksgiving Service will hold at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, the state capital, on Sunday.
The swearing-in ceremony of the governor and his deputy will take place at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, on Monday, after which there will be a gala night and book presentation at the International Centre for Culture & Events (The Dome), Akure.
Meanwhile, Aiyedatiwa has directed the cancellation of the restriction of movement on Saturday, during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
The governor maintained that while there will be no restriction of movement on Saturday, residents are still expected to clean their environment.
