Historic! Tems to headline FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, is set to achieve a major milestone as she headlines the halftime show at the final of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in July.
FIFA confirmed the lineup on Monday, June 9, 2025, announcing that Tems will perform alongside American rapper Doja Cat and Colombian global star J Balvin at the highly anticipated final match scheduled for July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.
The groundbreaking halftime show is being curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and produced in collaboration with Global Citizen—a move aimed at blending global entertainment with advocacy and philanthropy.
Reacting to the announcement, Tems expressed her excitement:
“We are going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment — to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. I can’t wait. See you at the Club World Cup final!”
This marks a historic first for Nigerian music, as Tems becomes the first Nigerian artist to perform at a FIFA Club World Cup final, highlighting her growing influence on the global stage.
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is the first edition of the tournament under its newly expanded 32-team format. It will take place from June 14 to July 13, spanning 12 stadiums across 11 U.S. cities.
The final is expected to draw millions of viewers worldwide, with Tems’ performance poised to be one of the standout cultural moments of the tournament.
