House party turns tragic as 2 die, others hospitalized after drug, alcohol overdose

A house party organized by a group of young women in Owerri has ended in tragedy, with two people confirmed dead and two others hospitalized in critical condition following excessive consumption of alcohol and hard drugs.
The disturbing incident surfaced online after a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed the lifeless bodies of two individuals being transported in the back of a truck. The caption accompanying the video read: “House party organized by three girls in Owerri ends in tragedy as two are confirmed dead and two others are battling for their lives due to excessive intake of drugs and alcohol.”
Sources allege that the party spiraled out of control when several attendees overdosed on a mix of illicit substances and alcoholic drinks. While the exact cause of death has yet to be officially confirmed, online reports suggest that the victims collapsed after consuming what was believed to be a cocktail of dangerous substances.
Medical personnel are reportedly battling to save the lives of the two survivors who were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
The tragic event has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users calling for increased awareness of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, especially among youths. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, but investigations into the incident are expected to follow.
As of the time of reporting, the identities of the deceased and the hospitalized individuals remain undisclosed.
