Jisalo, FCT minister, others preach peace, rally support for Tinubu, APC in Abuja

Ahead of Area Council election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the 2027 genera elections, Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo and the Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, have called on all the party leaders and stakeholders to be united and work for the purpose of winning the territory for the All ProgressivesCongress (APC).
The two ministers were speaking Monday in Abuja at an APC critical stakeholders meeting of the six arae councils in the territory.
While urging the new FCT State Chairman to bring on board all the aggrieved stakeholders and members of the party, Hon. Jisalo said in politics everyone is important, “we can not have any opposition within ourselves in FCT APC.”
The minister promised to lead campaign against the PDP and other parties during the next election in the FCT.
“Let me assure you that my sister (FCT Minister of State) and I are going to work together to ensure a free and fair primary election in June this.
“I am aware that some of our people are no here with us, we are going to look for them and settle all the minor disagreements because in politics everyone is important.”
Also speaking, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, who expressed happiness for having opportunity to see the party’s stakeholders at the meeting, called for such meetings regularly to hear directly from the people and plan how to win entire Abuja for the APC in future elections.
“I want to appreciate the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, because all of you can testify to the development in FCT. The infrastructure development, development in education, in health and and others. For me and Hon. JIsalo, we promise to do the needful to move our party forward in the FCT.”
While introducing the new leadership at the ward, Area Councils and tge FCT to the gatherings, the APC Zonal Secretary, Hon. Yakubu Adamu, who represented the Zonal Chairman, declared that the party “is no longer an open in the FCT unlike before.”
Hon. Adamu said: “We are here to tell the entire people of AMAC, the FCT and the Nigeria at large that we now have authentic executive leadership from Ward to Area Councils and the FCT.
“We are here to ginger you people up, to encourage you to start the work and by the special grace of God one of you will become our flagbear and will win the next election in AMAC by the grace of God.”
The APC chieftain, however, asked the FCT state chairman to sep up a disciplinary and finance committees from the Ward, Area Councils and the FCT.
Earlier, the new FCT APC chairman, Hon. Abdulmalik Usman, said the gathering was meant to discuss the future of APC in the FCT, adding that everything possible will be done to win election convincingly in the future elections.
“We are not imposing any candidate on you, we are going to be fair to everyone. Some of them that are calling us ‘a purported leader’ sponsored another candidate in the PDP in 2023.”
