Jennifer Odonwodo, the widow of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, has announced the passing of her father-in-law, Ozor Luke Odonwodo, in an emotional Instagram tribute that has stirred a wave of condolences from fans and colleagues.

In the heartfelt post, Jennifer revealed that Ozor Luke passed away in his 80s, barely a year after the tragic death of his son, Junior Pope. She reflected on their last moments together in Enugu and the deep bond they shared, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to spend time with him, unknowingly during his final days.

“Barely one month ago, I was with you in Enugu… Some days later, Reme (my mother-in-law) called and asked how I and her boys were doing, and then told me her husband had gone to meet my husband,” Jennifer wrote. “I screamed, but had to quickly pull myself together as she started crying.”

Describing her late father-in-law as a man who “genuinely loved” her, Jennifer praised his selfless devotion to family and the fulfilling life he lived. “He passed an octogenarian who lived a good life, paid his dues, sacrificed a lot for his family and loved ones, and happily reaped the fruits of his labour,” she noted.

She also acknowledged the emotional toll of losing two beloved family members within such a short period, praying for strength to carry on. “Reme, Nwanyioma, this is actually a lot within one year, but I pray God gives you and us all the strength we need to keep pushing no matter how hard it seems.”

Jennifer concluded the tribute with a message of hope, drawing solace from biblical promises of resurrection found in John 5:28–29 and Acts 24:15. “Adieu, father and son. You are sorely missed, but we hold onto the resurrection promises.”

The post has drawn sympathy and prayers from many, who continue to mourn with the Odonwodo family as they face another painful loss.
