Kidnappers abduct 2 dogs, demand ransom

Swiss police have cracked a high-profile dog kidnapping case after two Bolonka dogs were stolen from a man’s home in Schlieren, near Zurich, with the abductors demanding a hefty ransom of 1 million Swiss francs (about $1.135 million).
The incident occurred while the 59-year-old owner was away. Upon returning home, he discovered his beloved dogs missing and found a ransom note demanding payment for their release.
Instead of complying, the victim alerted the police, prompting an international investigation. On Thursday, Zurich authorities arrested a 30-year-old Norwegian suspect at Zurich Airport. Following leads, police in Poland detained a second suspect, a 38-year-old Polish national, and recovered the stolen dogs.
The Bolonkas, a rare Russian toy breed worth thousands of dollars, were safely returned to their owner on Friday. Meanwhile, the Norwegian suspect remains in Swiss custody, while Polish authorities continue their investigation into the second suspect.
