Luka Modric to join Milan after Club World Cup

Real Madrid midfielder will sign for AC Milan once Real Madrid’s Club World Cup charge is over, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
Many fans expected Luka Modric to hang up his boots at the age of 39 after leaving Real Madrid, or even join a Saudi Arabian club for a quiet last few years of his career.
However, the Croatian legend has not lost his taste for competing in football’s elite and has reached an agreement with AC Milan to join the Italian side once his Real Madrid tenure ends at the 2025 Club World Cup.
Furthermore, the ‘Rossoneri’s sporting director Igli Tare himself confirmed that they were working to bring in the Real Madrid icon. “We are ready to bring in Luka Modric, we need new leaders. He can be a key player for us and he asked about being competitive, winning titles… we are on it.”
In this way, Modric will strengthen the midfield of a Milan side that had a rather inconsistent season that saw them finish eighth in Serie A, leaving them out of contention for any European competition for the 2025/26 campaign.
