Makinde speaks on rumors of Olubadan’s death

The Oyo State Government has refuted widespread Nigeria news reports claiming that the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has passed away.
Speaking to PUNCH Online on Monday night, the state’s Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Wasiu Olatunbosun, dismissed the speculation, affirming that the monarch is alive and well.
“Yes, the Olubadan is alive, hale, and hearty. I spoke with one of his sons, Prince Olaseke Owolabi Olakulehin, who represented the family at the coronation committee,” Olatunbosun stated.
The clarification comes amid growing concerns over the king’s well-being, as misinformation about his status spread on social media. However, the state government has urged the public to disregard the false reports and avoid spreading unverified news.
