Man Utd speak on Ruben Amorim’s future

Reports has revealed that Jose Mourinho has unexpectedly resurfaced as a serious candidate to return to Manchester United, with doubts growing over Ruben Amorim’s future at Old Trafford after a dismal run of form.
Ruben Amorim’s appointment in November was seen as a bold move by United’s board, but results on the pitch have failed to match expectations.
With the team sitting 16th in the Premier League and having registered just six wins from 25 matches, pressure is mounting on the Portuguese manager — who has recently hinted at his own uncertainty over whether he remains the right man for the job.
This uncertainty has opened the door to intense speculation, with Mourinho now emerging as a strong contender to take the reins once more.
Mourinho, who managed United from 2016 to 2018, enjoyed relative success during his first spell, winning the Europa League and League Cup in his debut season and securing a second-place Premier League finish.
His name is believed to be back on the radar under the club’s new sporting structure led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and CEO Omar Berrada, both of whom are expected to make key decisions about the managerial position once the season concludes.
Although Amorim still has a chance to end the campaign on a high with a Europa League final against Tottenham, it remains to be seen whether European success would be enough to convince the board to stick with him.
