Olmo to miss Barcelona’s Champions League showdown

Barcelona star man Dani Olmo, is facing three weeks on the sidelines, ruling him out of the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Dortmund and the second leg of the Spanish Cup semi-final against Atletico.
The Spanish midfielder went down with an injury less than 30 minutes into Thursday’s 3-0 win over Osasuna, with Fermin Lopez coming in to replace him. Barcelona confirmed the extent of the damage earlier on Friday.
“Tests conducted this morning have confirmed that first-team player Dani Olmo has a right adductor injury. He is expected to be out for around three weeks,” reads a statement from the Catalan side following their La Liga win.
Olmo will therefore miss this weekend’s league clash with Girona, the second leg of the Spanish Cup semi-final against Atletico Madrid, and the Champions League quarter-final tie against Borussia Dortmund.
After the match, head coach Hansi Flick expressed concern that the victory had come at a cost. “We have three points more but we paid a really high price with the injury of Dani,” Flick told reporters.
