Pastor Adefarasin released on bail after police interrogation over viral ‘gun’ video

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that popular preacher and Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has been released on bail after voluntarily appearing for questioning over a viral video showing him with what looked like a firearm.
The video, which sparked widespread debate on social media, captured the moment Pastor Adefarasin held the object during a church program, leading many to question the legality and intention behind it.
However, in a statement released by Lagos Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, authorities clarified that the object in question was a stun gun, not a conventional firearm. A stun gun is a non-lethal self-defense device often used in riot control and personal protection.
Despite being non-lethal, stun guns are classified as prohibited under Nigerian law.
Pastor Adefarasin reportedly gave a cautionary statement to investigators and was released on bail as investigations continue.
The police assured the public that the matter is still under review and further updates would be provided as necessary.
