Portable crowned ‘street king’ after defeating Speed Darlington in celebrity boxing showdown

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, emerged victorious over fellow artiste Speed Darlington in a much-hyped celebrity boxing match that held fans at the edge of their seats on Thursday night.
The showdown, which took place at the Balmoral Convention Center in Lagos on April 18, 2025, followed a fiery online feud between the two entertainers. The drama began when Speed Darlington reportedly offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at his concert — an offer that the Zazuu crooner flatly rejected, demanding a staggering ₦20 million instead, which he described as his standard booking fee.
Portable didn’t stop there. He went on to mock Speed Darlington online, calling him “poor” and challenging him to settle their differences in the boxing ring — a challenge Speed Darlington readily accepted.
In the end, Portable dominated the match and was declared the winner, claiming the self-styled title of “Street King.” Viral videos from the event showed the singer celebrating on his knees, clutching the championship belt with pride.
Meanwhile, Speed Darlington’s night ended on a sour note as he left the ring nursing a visibly broken arm wrapped in bandages — an injury that drew a wave of reactions from fans across social media platforms.
The fight, though unconventional, has fueled plenty of buzz in the entertainment space, with fans split between admiration for Portable’s bravado and concern over the escalating trend of celebrity clashes turning physical.
