Portable drags Burna Boy over snub after generous gift

Controversial street-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has called out Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy for allegedly ignoring his attempts at communication—despite previously gifting him a staggering N20 million.
In a recent video making the rounds online, Portable expressed frustration over what he described as Burna Boy’s refusal to acknowledge or engage with him after his generous act.
It will be recalled that Burna Boy reportedly gifted Portable the huge sum following his much-publicized victory over fellow internet sensation Speed Darlington in a widely watched boxing match.
Although grateful for the financial support, Portable said he had hoped the gesture would lead to more meaningful interaction—particularly a music collaboration. However, his expectations appear to have been dashed.
According to him, Burna Boy has never replied to his Instagram messages, doesn’t pick his calls, and hasn’t followed him back on social media. “I don’t even have his number,” Portable lamented.
In his words:
“Person wey give me N20 million never reply me for Instagram before. I dey call am, he no pick. E no follow me. I no get him number and yet he gave me money. Why he dey stingy with his replies?”
Portable emphasized that while the money was appreciated, getting a song collaboration with Burna Boy would have meant even more to his career.
The outburst has sparked mixed reactions online, with some netizens criticizing Portable for appearing ungrateful, while others sympathized with his desire to use the momentum for professional growth.
As of the time of this report, Burna Boy has yet to respond to Portable’s comments.
