Presidency speaks on authorizing 2027 campaign billboards

The Presidency has distanced itself from the increasing number of billboards promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 campaign, describing the development as unauthorized and contrary to electoral laws.
According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima do not support any campaign that breaches the laws of the land.
The electoral law prohibits premature campaigning for the 2027 general elections, which can undermine the integrity of the electoral process and create unfair advantages.
The Presidency disclaims responsibility for the billboards, some featuring President Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in cities like Abuja and Kano.
The President has not endorsed or authorized anyone to mount a 2027 campaign through any media channel. Individuals and groups funding the campaign billboards are urged to cease immediately.
President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima prioritize nation-building, focusing on economic revitalization, human capital development, infrastructural renewal, social investment, and national security.
The Presidency emphasized that President Tinubu will inform Nigerians of his plans when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) sets the timetable for the 2027 elections.
