Pretty Mike opens up about struggles after AMVCA robot costume stunt

Lagos socialite and fashion influencer Pretty Mike has shared the challenges he faced after his daring robot costume stunt at the 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) on May 11, 2024, at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.
The annual event, which attracts Nigeria’s fashion elite, witnessed a wide array of bold and extravagant outfits. However, Pretty Mike stole the spotlight with his attention-grabbing robot-themed ensemble, which generated a flurry of reactions across social media, both positive and negative.
In a video that has since gone viral, Pretty Mike opened up about the discomfort he endured while wearing the intricate costume. He humorously described how his attempt to relieve himself was thwarted by the outfit’s design, leading to a 30-minute struggle. The fashion icon expressed frustration over not having planned for such basic needs in the elaborate costume.
He said in the video: “For more than 30 minutes I’ve been trying to piss. This thing na fashion? But we never planned for the part where I can actually pee. To take a leak, I’ll have to take off the whole thing. Is this what we go through?”
While his costume left a lasting impression at the event, Pretty Mike’s candid admission of the difficulties involved highlights the often-overlooked challenges behind bold fashion statements. Despite the mishap, his outfit remains one of the most talked-about moments of the night, cementing his reputation as a fearless trendsetter.
