South-South APC chair welcomes Oborevwori, other PDP defectors

The National Vice-Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the South-South region, Chief Victor Giadom extended a warm welcome to several prominent figures from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have now joined the APC.
Among the new members are Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor of Delta State, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, and other high-profile individuals who have made the decision to switch allegiance.
Giadom expressed his excitement over the significant political shift, describing it as a major endorsement of the APC’s leadership under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He emphasized that the collapse of the Delta PDP structure into the APC is a testament to the appeal of the administration’s visionary leadership and transformative economic policies, which have gained widespread support in the South-South region.
“Their decision to collapse the Delta PDP structure into our Party is an endorsement of the visionary leadership and transformational economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration, which now resonate across the South-South region,” Giadom stated.
He further noted that the APC South-South zonal leadership is eager to work alongside the new members to fortify the party and ensure its success in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Giadom expressed confidence that the addition of these influential figures will significantly strengthen the APC’s position in the region and contribute to the party’s overwhelming victory in the next elections.
“We look forward to working with our new members to strengthen the Party and position it for overwhelming victory for the President and our Party in the region in the 2027 general elections,” Giadom added.
Discovererngr.com reports that this development comes at a time of growing political realignment in the country, with several prominent figures from the PDP making the decision to join the APC. The move is expected to further consolidate the APC’s influence in the South-South region as it prepares for the next round of elections.
The APC continues to strengthen its ranks ahead of the 2027 elections, and with the influx of high-profile political figures like Governor Oborevwori and Sen. Okowa, the party appears poised for even greater success in the region.
