Suspended Edo Attorney-General finally speaks out

Suspended Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo State, Samson Osagie, has strongly denied allegations of financial misconduct leveled against him, insisting he has never been involved in any fraudulent dealings.
In a statement released on Wednesday night, Osagie refuted claims that he engaged in financial infractions alongside the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, which led to his suspension. He maintained that he was neither involved in any financial transactions nor given the opportunity to respond to the allegations before his suspension was announced.
“My attention has just been drawn to a Government special announcement dated 5th February 2025, in which I was alleged to have engaged in financial infractions with the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission and therefore suspended. Let me state unequivocally that I am not and was never involved in any financial dealing with anyone nor committed any financial infraction of any kind,” he stated.
He further expressed his readiness to defend himself, clear his name, and protect the reputation he has built over the years.
