Tension grips UNN as female student abducted during morning jog on campus

Tension has gripped the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), following the reported abduction of a female postgraduate student who was kidnapped during her morning jog within the school premises.
The incident came to public attention after a user identified as @theoriaku took to X (formerly Twitter) to raise an alarm over the disappearance of his friend, a Ph.D. student at the institution.
According to his post, the victim—A Mass Communication PhD student was abducted inside the campus during her routine morning exercise. He also revealed that the kidnappers have since contacted the victim’s associates and are demanding a ransom of ₦10 million for her release.
“A friend of mine and a postgraduate student (Ph.D.) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is currently missing. She was kidnapped this morning during a morning walk/jogging inside the school,” he wrote.
The user also expressed concern over the school’s response, accusing campus security of negligence.
“We have involved the school security who are acting unconcerned about the entire case. The kidnappers are asking for a ransom of ₦10 million. Her details are attached in the pictures above. Any information will be appreciated,” he added.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the university administration nor security agencies have released an official statement regarding the incident. The student’s whereabouts remain unknown.
