Tragedy as fire razes popular Rivers market

A late-night fire outbreak ravaged the popular Rumuomasi Market in Rivers State on Tuesday, sparking panic among traders and residents as desperate calls for help flooded social media.
A video widely circulated online shows flames engulfing parts of the market while frantic voices in the background begged viewers to help amplify the incident. In the clip, individuals pleaded with Nigerians to share the video in hopes that the fire service would see it and respond swiftly.
“This is Rumuomasi Market, please share this video! Let the fire service see it and come help us,” a voice in the ?video cried out as the fire raged uncontrollably.
As of the time of filing this report, it remains unclear if emergency responders arrived at the scene or what level of damage the inferno caused. No official statement has been issued by the Rivers State Fire Service or local authorities regarding the cause of the fire or possible casualties.
The Rumuomasi Market is a key commercial hub in Port Harcourt, and many fear that the fire may have destroyed goods worth millions of naira.
