Breaking: Tragedy in Ibadan as petrol tanker explosion kills 2

A tragic fire incident in Ibadan’s New Garage area has claimed the lives of a petrol tanker driver and his motor boy in the early hours of Tuesday, March 4.
The fire erupted near the Total filling station outlet along Akala Express, Oluyole Local Government Area.
Confirming the incident, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Yemi Akinyinka, stated that emergency responders received a distress call at 5:15 a.m. and swiftly mobilized to the scene.
“We got information about the fire outbreak at GABSTAB Mega Petrol Station, Orita Challenge, and immediately deployed our team. Unfortunately, the tanker driver and his motor boy were burnt to death,” Akinyinka said.
While the fire has been successfully contained, authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
An eyewitness, Abdulsalam Abolaji, a staff member of Seven Up Bottling Company in Ibadan, reported that the fire affected parts of the Total filling station, leading to the closure of one lane of the road.
“I witnessed the incidence while coming to work this morning”— Abdulsalam said.
