Tragedy on Ibadan expressway as truck crushes 3 siblings

A devastating tragedy struck on Wednesday morning along the Celica-Kukumoda axis of the Ife-Ibadan Expressway as three young siblings were crushed to death by a speeding truck.
The children, who were reportedly on their way to school, lost their lives when the truck laden with goods suffered brake failure and veered off course, fatally hitting them in front of horrified bystanders.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as heart-wrenching, with residents and passersby screaming and scrambling to help, but it was already too late. “The children died instantly.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) quickly arrived at the scene to retrieve the children’s bodies and transport them to a nearby hospital morgue. Police officers were also deployed to maintain order and disperse the growing crowd of distraught onlookers.
The incident has left the community reeling in grief and anger, especially coming on the heels of other recent tragedies in the state. Just days earlier, a police officer reportedly shot a WAEC student inside his father’s car, causing outrage. And only yesterday, a petrol-laden tanker exploded along the Oremeji-Olorunsogo road, causing another panic and destruction.
