Transfer: Bayern, Arsenal battle for Nico Williams

Bayern Munich and Arsenal will battle it out this summer to secure the services of former Barcelona target Nico Williams, who is also not ruled out staying at Athletic Club.
Nico Williams was one of the big transfer sagas of last summer and promises to be one of the most talked about names in the summer transfer window.
FC Barcelona tried to land the Spanish winger but in the end the younger Williams brother decided to renew with Athletic Club until 2027.
However, the 22-year-old attacker has once again been one of the Basque side’s bright spots this season and is once again on the radar of Europe’s giant clubs.
Nico Williams has scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 45 appearances this season, leading both Bayern Munich and Arsenal to put him at the top of their shortlists.
Both clubs would not be reluctant to pay his €58m release clause, but the Spanish winger’s high wage demands are one of the key sticking points in the negotiations for his signature.
The Bundesliga club have in fact already met a couple of times with his camp and more are planned throughout June, according to Fabrizio Romano.
