Transfer: Pogba agrees to join Monaco

The French midfielder Paul Pogba, has reached a verbal agreement with Monaco to sign a contract until 2027.
Paul Pogba is one of those players who was tipped to be a world star and although he became one, he did not have as successful a career as was expected of one of the best French midfielders of the last decade.
The former Juventus player has not set foot on a football pitch since 3rd September 2023, as he spent up to 18 months banned from playing football again after he tested positive for testosterone in an anti-doping test. In fact, the sanction was originally 4 years but on appeal it was reduced to 18 months.
After that, there were plenty of rumours that Pogba could return to the pitch but in lower level leagues such as Turkey or the Saudi Pro League, although the 32-year-old midfielder’s wish was to return to elite football.
Pogba has now reached an agreement with Monaco to sign a contract until June 2027, so pending lawyers checking the contract and medicals, football fans will once again be able to enjoy the football of ‘Pogboom’.
