UCL: PSG Vitinha confident of shocking Inter Milan

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha responded to claims that Inter Milan were the favourites to win the Champions League, insisting that experienced sides do not always emerge victorious.
Saturday’s showpiece will be Paris Saint-Germain’s chance to lift the Champions League trophy for the first time in their history. After years of European struggles, the Parisians are one step away from turning their dreams into reality, as they face Inter in Munich on May 31.
Inter Milan, who have reached the Champions League final for the second time in the past three years, present themselves with a much more experienced squad than PSG, with the likes of veteran stars like Acerbi, Sommer and Mkhitaryan proving to be crucial for them in the tournament.
On whether experience will be a factor at the Allianz Arena, PSG midfielder Vitinha said: “I don’t think so. We reached the Champions League final even though we have a younger team. It’s not written anywhere that teams with the most experience always win the Champions League.”
Aided by the departures of superstars like Neymar, Messi and more recently Mbappe, PSG have developed a real force this term. “This year we are more of a team, a collective,” Vitinha told ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’. “We have gained more confidence in ourselves, and that helped us to raise the quality.”
Vitinha concluded his interview with a promise to PSG supporters: “In a final like this, there are no favourites. There will be two massive teams who will give it their all on the pitch to win. What I can assure our supporters is that PSG will do everything possible to make our dreams come true.”
