Visa ban looms as Adeyanju warns Akpabio over harassment of female senators

Popular human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has warned Senate President Godswill Akpabio, over his alleged harassment of female lawmakers.
The Kogi-born lawyer also threatened to advocate for a visa ban on him and his family if he fails to stop the harassment of female senators.
Adeyanju’s warning comes after a disturbing incident where Senator Natasha Akpoti was unjustly ordered to leave the Senate chamber by Akpabio. This incident is part of a larger pattern of behavior towards female senators under Akpabio’s leadership.
Adeyanju emphasized that female senators deserve the same respect and consideration as their male colleagues and that the repeated harassment against them must no longer be tolerated. He also questioned Akpabio’s double standard, sparing his male counterparts from similar treatment.
This is not the first time Adeyanju has advocated for a visa ban on individuals who violate human rights.
Previously, he petitioned the US, UK, Canada, and EU to place a visa ban on Police PRO Olumuyiwa Adejobi and members of his family for cracking down on freedom of speech in Nigeria.
