Wike: Dele Momodu hails Tinubu for intervening over closure of PDP National Secretariat

Popular Nigerian journalist and politician, Chief Dele Momodu, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for intervening over the controversial sealed of Peoples Democratic party (PDP) National Secretariat as well as other properties of defaulters in Abuja by the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesome Wike.
The president’s intervention has been widely welcome by many Nigerians, who see it as a move to checkmate the activities of the FCT minister.
Dele Momodu in a statement on Tuesday, praised the president for his fast action, noting that it has sent a strong message to the FCT minister and others who may be tempted to abuse their power.
“He highlighted the need for the government to restrain itself from vindictive outbursts and to prioritize the welfare of Nigerians, who are currently facing significant hardship and pain.
“He also related Wike’s behavior with that of Minister of works Dave Umahi, saying that while Wike’s actions are causing additional burden and insults to Nigerians, Umahi has demonstrated humility in his work.
“The intervention by the president has showed a significant step in asserting his authority and ensuring that his government is not undermined by the actions of one of its minister.
“He also noted that there can’t two captains in one ship and it appears that Wike has been given a clear message about his role and responsibilities within the government”, he concluded.
