Wike denies collapse rumours

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports claiming he collapsed, labeling them as baseless fabrications aimed at distracting the public.
Rumors surfaced last week alleging that Wike suffered a partial stroke, supposedly linked to excessive alcohol consumption. However, the former Rivers State governor has refuted the claims, emphasizing that while health challenges can affect anyone, he has not experienced any such incident.
“I am fit and healthy,” Wike declared, reassuring Nigerians of his well-being.
He linked the false reports to recent developments in Rivers State, including the controversy surrounding a former head of service and an alleged plot to bomb the House of Assembly complex and attack national assets. According to him, these weighty matters prompted attempts to divert public attention by spreading falsehoods about his health.
Wike expressed gratitude to those who showed concern but urged people to refrain from wishing ill upon others. He reminded the public that while death is inevitable, only God determines when a person’s time will come.
The minister also reiterated his commitment to his duties, stating that he remains focused and unbothered by misleading narratives.
