2 years in office: Cabinet reshuffle now or never, PLAN Nigeria tells Tinubu

As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approaches his second year in office on May 29, the Progressive Leaders Association of Nigeria (PLAN Nigeria) has called for an urgent cabinet reshuffle, warning that several ministers are underperforming and hiding behind media propaganda.
In a strongly worded statement signed by its Director-General, Comrade Bello Elmikado, the group urged the President to act swiftly by removing what it described as “deadwoods” in his cabinet and injecting new energy into the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to PLAN Nigeria, many current ministers have failed to meet expectations, and their continued stay in office is becoming a liability to the administration.
“Some of these ministers are now relying on media hype and propaganda to mask their incompetence,” Elmikado said. “It’s clear that the patience of Nigerians is wearing thin, and the nation cannot afford to continue along this path of mediocrity.”
The group emphasized that the May 29 anniversary should not be marked by celebration alone, but also by bold decisions that reflect the urgency of national transformation.
As expectations mount ahead of the two-year mark, the call by PLAN Nigeria echoes the sentiments of many Nigerians who have been calling for more action and less rhetoric from the government.
