2025 UTME: Simple steps to check your JAMB result

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with the board revealing that over 75 percent of candidates scored below 200.
As at the time of compiling this report, JAMB candidates can now access their 2025 UTME results, but only through a dedicated SMS system.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to check your 2025 UTME result:
Step 1:
Using the phone number used during UTME registration, type and send UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 via SMS.
Step 2:
Wait for a response. Your UTME result will be sent to you as a text message.
Important Notes:
Only the phone number used for registration can be used to check the result.
The service costs N50 per SMS.
Possible Responses You May Receive:
1. Successful Result:
“Dear Mr/Miss X, your result is as follows…” (Followed by your subject scores and total).
2. Wrong Phone Number:
“This phone number was not used for registration.”
3. Result Withheld:
“Result Withheld”
4. Clarifications Required:
“Result withheld pending the upload of clarifications/documents required from you.”
5. Candidate Absent:
“CANDIDATE ABSENT”
6. Registration Cancelled Due to Absence:
“CANDIDATE ABSENT WITH REGISTRATION NUMBER ALSO CANCELLED”
7. Unauthorized Access to Exam Hall:
“Invalid Entrance into the Exam Hall”
JAMB has not yet activated any online portal for checking the results, so the SMS method remains the only official means for now.
