2027: APC announces automatic ticket for Cross River governor Otu

In preparation for the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has awarded automatic tickets to the State Governor, Apostle Senator Prince Governor Bassey Otu and his deputy and currently the Acting Governor, Rt. Peter Odey, highlighting their impactful leadership and laudable achievements.
The announcement was made Monday by the APC State Chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba esq, who called on other party members considering political positions to begin their consultations.
Eba clarified that apart from the governor and his deputy, no other party members had been granted automatic tickets.
He encouraged other aspirants to return to their constituencies and gather support ahead of the elections.
Eba said: “The State Working Committee and the State Executive Committee of APC met today and resolved that Governor Otu will be the party’s sole candidate in 2027.
“Nobody changes a winning team. The governor and his deputy will carry the party’s flag in 2027.”
The APC chairman further explained that even if Governor Otu hesitated, the party would still present a single ticket with his name, just as it did in 2022.
He urged the governor to listen to the party members and accept the nomination.
Eba also praised the deputy governor, who is currently acting as governor, for supporting President Bola Tinubu’s actions in Rivers State.
Addressing rumours, he pointed out that the acting governor had clarified that South-South governors had not consulted him before opposing Tinubu’s decision. Eba commended the President for bringing peace to Rivers State and preventing a potential political crisis.
