Police arrest 4 suspect for robbery in Gombe

ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the Police Public Relations Officer for Gombe State, on Monday confirmed that police operatives from the Gombe Divisional Police Area had successfully busted a four-man gang responsible for stealing equipment from the corps members’ lodge in Tundunwada.
The affected corpers’ lodge is a residential building where corps members, who are participating in the mandatory national service program, reside during their service year.
Abdullahi, who confirmed the robbery, also revealed that officers acted swiftly based on credible information, which led to their arrest and the recovery of the items.
He said, “A group of four individuals who attacked the corpers’ lodge here in Tundunwada in Gombe, close to the fire service and collected the victims’ phones and laptops have been arrested.
“Upon receipt of the information, the police tactical team, patrol 999 together with Gombe division personnel swung into action and apprehended all the suspects and recovered all items stolen from the individuals.”
Abdullahi also revealed that police operatives apprehended a cattle rustler in the Dukku Local Government Area of the state.
“Fortunately, he has been on our wanted list for some time now in a suspected case of kidnapping last month (May),” he added.
Abdullahi stated that the suspects will be paraded before the media and subsequently arraigned in court following the conclusion of the Muslim Sallah holidays.
