Tragedy as rising football star dies during training

A devastating incident has shaken the football community in Enugu State, as promising young player Chisom Oodo succumbed to a suspected cardiac arrest during a training session on Sunday.
The 20-year-old footballer, who hailed from Aji in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, collapsed while contesting for the ball with an opponent at Ogrute, the local government headquarters.
Chisom’s talent had been discovered during the Enugu-Ezike Football Tournament last Christmas, where he showcased exceptional skills on the field. His impressive performance caught the attention of scouts, and he was selected to travel to Europe for further development. Tragically, his passport and visa were ready, but fate had other plans.
Franklin Onyeoma, a fan of the late Chisom, described the incident as a devastating blow to the community, leaving everyone in shock and sorrow.
