Nigerian-born UFC sensation Israel Adesanya received a hero’s welcome upon his arrival in Lagos, despite his recent loss to Dricus Du Plessis.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) shared videos of Adesanya’s warm reception at the airport, where he was accompanied by his parents and greeted by NiDCOM staff.
Thediscovererng.com reports that Adesanya, known for his impressive kickboxing skills, had suffered a fourth-round submission loss to South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305 in Perth.
NiDCOM’s welcome gesture showcased Nigeria’s pride in Adesanya’s achievements, emphasizing his roots and connection to the nation.
“Earlier today, Nigerian-born UFC star Israel Adesanya arrived in Lagos, accompanied by his parents, and was warmly received by NiDCOM staff,” the commission wrote.
