VIDEO: Desmond Elliot addresses same-s3x allegations

Nollywood actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has publicly responded to recent allegations linking him to same-s3x relationships after his name surfaced on a list circulated by the controversial blog Gistlover.
The post, which included names of Nigerian celebrities allegedly involved in same-s3x relationships, sparked a social media frenzy and attracted intense public scrutiny.
In a recent interview on TVC, Elliot dismissed the allegations as “baseless” and driven by “malicious gossip,” emphasizing that he would not allow unverified rumors to distract him from his political commitments. Speaking candidly, he remarked, “Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it did not reduce or increase my life? Secondly, it is an opinion that is being conceived. I don’t think it is necessary for me to come out and say it’s true or not true; as long as I’m affecting people positively, I’m good. So let me state it very clearly that I am straight.”
Elliot also highlighted that he has far more important issues to address, particularly his mission to improve the lives of his constituents. His remarks resonate amid a wider conversation around the need to halt the spread of unverified claims and character attacks on social media, with many public figures calling for responsible online discourse.

The actor-turned-lawmaker’s response reflects a growing sentiment among Nigerian celebrities and politicians for a focus on integrity and constructive impact rather than engaging with malicious speculations. As Elliot continues to focus on his political duties, he joins a call to shift the narrative from online gossip to meaningful contributions in society.
